TRANSPARENCY, ONLINE TOO
Your data.
Clearly explained.
How data is processed when you visit this website, which technical tools it uses and how you can exercise your rights.
01 / Controller and scope
The entity below is the data controller for the Jirovago website. This notice covers browsing and any messages sent to the operator. It does not cover app data such as accounts, itineraries, expenses or documents; separate notices will be provided before that data is collected. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) applies where relevant, alongside other applicable laws.
02 / Data, purposes and legal bases
When you visit, systems needed to deliver the website may process IP address, date and time, requested URL and parameters, browser type, technical device information, referrer and request status. Purposes are page delivery, technical operation and abuse prevention; where applicable, the basis is the legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against users’ rights. Connection requires this technical data. The script reads browser language to suggest a supported language and stores manual selection in localStorage. The lang parameter appears in the URL and may therefore be included in provider logs. Website code does not send these preferences to analytics tools. Providers and retention must be confirmed below.
03 / When you contact us
If you email the operator, your email address, any supplied name, message and attachments you choose to send may be processed to answer your request and handle related obligations. Where relevant, general enquiries rely on the legitimate interest in answering (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)); pre-contract steps you request on Article 6(1)(b); legal obligations, including rights requests, on Article 6(1)(c). Providing data is optional, but an answer requires the necessary information. Do not send passports, tickets, health data or other unnecessary information: the website is not a channel for uploading app documents. Correspondence is kept to handle the request and, when necessary, legal obligations or disputes; the actual period or criteria and email service must be confirmed below.
04 / Technical cookies and local storage
This website version includes no code-set cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, remote fonts, contact forms or social widgets. Images, including store badges, are served by this website; displaying them does not load resources from Apple or Google. localStorage remembers only the selected language, without profiling identifiers. Storage strictly necessary for this user-requested preference does not require prior consent within the limits of Italian Privacy Code Article 122 and the Garante’s guidance. This exemption cannot automatically extend to analytics or marketing: each tool must be assessed before activation. The provider may introduce additional tools requiring separate verification.
| Tool / owner | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
@jirovago:landing:languagelocalStorage | User-selected language preference. First party, only in this browser. | Persistent until site data is cleared; overwritten when you change language. No automatic expiry. |
05 / Managing preferences and cookies
You can remove the preference by clearing site data in your browser settings, or block local storage: the website remains readable and you can choose a language again. Hosting may introduce technical security identifiers; before publication their presence, names and lifetimes must be checked and this notice updated. Any non-essential tools will be introduced only after updating the notice and enabling prior consent where required. No banner is shown solely to save the language you request.
06 / Recipients, hosting and transfers
Data may be accessible to authorised personnel, hosting and email providers as needed to deliver the service, advisers for documented needs and authorities where legally required. Providers act as processors where applicable under GDPR Article 28 agreements. The operator does not sell data or use it for behavioural advertising. Providers, log retention, processing locations and transfer safeguards must be confirmed in the details below. Where GDPR applies, transfers outside the EEA require an adequacy decision or other valid safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and supplementary measures where necessary. You may request information or a copy of the safeguards from the controller. If you open an external link, your browser connects to the destination website, which may receive technical connection data under its own privacy notice.
07 / Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability in the cases provided by law, and object to legitimate-interest processing on grounds relating to your situation. You may withdraw any consent without affecting earlier processing. Write to the privacy contact above: we normally respond within one month under GDPR; any lawful extension for complex requests will be explained. Proportionate identity verification may be needed. You may complain to the Italian Garante (www.garanteprivacy.it) or the competent authority, including where you live or work. Rights under applicable local laws remain unaffected. We do not carry out profiling or automated decisions with legal effects.
08 / Children and updates
This is an informational website with no registration or intentional collection of children’s data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us to assess deletion. This notice will be updated when tools or processing change; the date above identifies the latest revision. Incompatible new purposes or processing requiring consent will be addressed before activation in accordance with the law.
Every great journey starts with an idea.
